Baby Gene Passed away on November 27, 2003 unexpectedly at the age of 28 in a car accident. It was Thanksgiving Morning. Its still so hard to believe that he's not here with us. But I heard a saying when he passed away that stuck with me and I will never forget. It goes like this: "When you have children, God is only borrowing them to you for sometime, because we are all Gods children, and then he wants them back".

Eugene Poitra Jr. was Born in Rolette North Dakota on August 22, 1975 to Eugene Sr. and Karen Poitra. The name "Baby Gene" was given to him early on in life, so it stuck with him until the day he passed. Baby Gene lived life to the fullest. He attended all his school years in the Turtle Mountain Communit Schools. He graduated High School in 1993. From there he attended college at the Turtle Mountain Community College. There he achieved getting his 2 year AA Degree. At the time of his death he was attending UND in Grand Forks, ND. He was going to school to be a teacher. He was already doing his student teaching in Grand Forks. He was so proud the first day he was teaching he had to call and tell the whole family that the kids were calling him "Mr. Poitra". He would have made a GREAT teacher! |
