Why I Want to be a Teacher
(This was written by Baby Gene for a class in college. We believe he would have made a great teacher. He did, surely, have a great big loving heart for children.)

WHY I WANT TO BE A TEACHER

I think it would be hard to think of just one reason why I want to become a teacher. I have a heart for children. I want to be able to help them grow and succeed in life. I want to help each child reach their full potential. I also want to know I have made a difference in at least on child's life and that would be teaching them how to read or by just being a strong role model.
I have grown up with a few teachers in my family. I have seen what they do for the children and what the children has brought to their lives. I want to experience and be a part of that joy and happiness.
I want to wake up thinking about teaching and go to bed thinking about teaching. I believe I have been given a gift, I want to share this gift to others and to be able to expect the best I possibly can and by becoming a teacher, I feel I would be.
I am proud of the career I have choosen. It is one that makes the world a greater place for children to grow and prosper.

Do Not Cry For Me
Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumns rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there, I did not die.
